The CD booklet features an introduction by international theatre director Steven Pimlott and some marvellous photography by Clare Park.
The 20 tracks include: ‘When I Was Out This Morning’ from the 1990 Chichester Peter Hall/Mandy Patinkin/Jose Ferrer musical Born Again - original co-star Claire Moore recreates her role of Daisy complete with the original orchestration. (8 tracks are presented with full theatrical orchestrations, newly recorded at Angel Studios.)
Liza Pulman, newest member of Fascinating Aida, here records a song cut from the 2003 Chichester prodcution of The Water Babies.
Philip Quast sings all five songs written for Steven Pimlott's RSC production of The Learned Ladies,
whilst Maria Friedman previews the moving ballad ‘A Garden’ from Jason's latest work-in-progress
(with some all-star backing vocals!).
Michael Ball and John Barr conjure up all the bizazz and glamour of the Parisian cabaret institution ‘The Lido’
with their renditions of two dramatic and soulful numbers composed for their premiere world tour.
Opera star William Dazeley (most recently seen as Anthony in Covent Garden's Sweeney Todd) and
leading Irish actor David Ganly (Dave in The Full Monty and currently touring in the
Oxford Stage Company's The Quare Fellow) complete the remarkable company of singers
with their renditions of Shakepeare settings composed for the RSC.
